Losing fat can be tiring. We all want quick results and almost everybody who is trying to lose fat will look for shortcuts and tactics that will give us an edge in the battle against flab.
We all want fast results but fat loss is a slow process. There are no shortcuts. No pills, cream or potion can cause fast fat loss. Even surgery with all its risks has only temporary results.
If we lose weight fast, we gain it back fast. Proper nutrition with proper training will always result in fat loss that is healthy and easier to maintain. But even taking it slow and steady there are a few tricks you can employ just to ensure you are getting good results.
Do not expect overnight miracles with these tips but if you follow them, you’ll be helping your body burn more calories in the same period of time. Every calorie counts.
1. JOIN A SPORT TEAM
Basketball, swimming, soccer, hockey, etc. are all activities that burn calories. The difference between these sports and slogging it out alone in the gym or pounding the tracks on your own is that sports can be much more fun and less taxing.
Sometimes going to the gym or doing cardio daily can get monotonous. You really need a break. That’s where a sport will help. You do not have to do a team sport daily. Just during those times when the normal workouts get boring and you really need something to perk you up.
2. EXERCISE EARLY
Once or twice a week, aim to rise an hour earlier in the morning in order to ‘work out’ before your working day begins. This habit is hugely beneficial to aid fat loss. Once we hit our burn during the early morning session, all of the calories we consume throughout the day are burned off at a much faster rate.
Also working out in the early hours leaves us feeling energised for the entire day, and with a positive attitude. We are much more likely to make healthy food choices throughout the day, having made the effort to work out in the morning.
3. ADD GREEN TEA TO YOUR DIET
Green tea is a great alternative to black tea or coffee. Often our habit is to eat a cookie or cake with our morning coffee. Change to green tea or herbal teas and change the habit or eating whilst you drink.
Green tea has been shown to boost the metabolic rate and increase fat burning in the short term. While some studies disagree with this the bottom line is that green tea is full of antioxidants and nutrients that can have a powerful effect on our body.
4. BRUSH YOUR TEETH AFTER EATING THE LAST MEAL OF THE DAY
Most of us are conditioned to sleep once we brush our teeth. Once you have eaten your last meal for the day, brushing your teeth will subconsciously tell your body to stop eating. This will prevent late night cravings for snacks or junk food.
5. EAT LESS MORE OFTEN
Do not eat three large meals that leave you feeling bloated and full. Eat five smaller meals instead and always stop while you are partially full. It takes a longer time for your brain to process the fact that your stomach is full. By the time the signal comes, you may have over eaten.
These 5 tips can really help you if you follow them. Just remember that it’s ok if it takes time to lose fat. It took time to gain it in the first place. That is just the natural order of things.
The journey is more important and if you stay focused on your fat loss journey with persistence and patience, you will reach your destination. Everything you learn on your fat loss journey will help to ensure once you have reached your ideal body size, that you will maintain it. That is what really matters.
